The Bobbie Barnett Memorial Foundation hosts a series of events designed to create competitive experiences for young players. These “transition events” have formats that are competitive, yet allow the player to develop without undue stress.
Each foursome is captained by an experienced mentor* who will guide them, lead and marshal the team for proper scorekeeping and etiquette. Mentors are experienced players who “have been there, done that” and are interested in reaching back to help less experienced players, while still playing a competitive round.
Who should play: boys and girls who are capable of playing an 18-hole format and interested in gaining valuable competitive experience.
*Interested in being a mentor? Twenty-five percent of the field will be designated as team captain mentors. The order in which we will choose the mentors is: college players, all-state, all-conference, past mentors and varsity players. Mentors will be our guests for the day; players out-side of the top fourth of the field will pay the regular player fee.
